The photographic Contest "Domes, Towers, Bell Towers", promoted by the Cultural Association Sikalesh, has a double purpose: To raise awareness on the dissemination and knowledge of aspects sometimes hidden, that surround our city seen from above, the opportunity for potential artists to bring out their own message by displaying their work in places of historical interest.
The contest is aimed at all photography enthusiasts, whether professionals or amateurs who want to tell through their shots the impressions that the view from above arouses in them.
The theme of the contest is the panoramic view, as much as it is possible to capture from privileged points of view of the city, whether they are domes, towers or bell towers. Changing perspective means looking at the city from a different point of view.
The goal is to enhance the city without prejudice, distancing us for a moment from the city problems, and picking only what is beautiful can offer a territory. The view from above of a city is always something unique and exciting, the look is placed in the center, and overlooks what at that moment seems to be in full control of a soul in symbiosis with centuries of history. Showing your creative flair through photography, it is possible to give life to everything, sharing and making it unique.
To participate you do not need to be equipped with state-of-the-art cameras, even through a smartphone you can capture facets and details that can excite in their disruptive simplicity.
Subject Promoter
The photographic Contest "Cupola, Torri e Campanili" is promoted by the Cultural Association Sikalesh, based in Palermo, in Via Vittorio Emanuele n.396, tax code 97380250825, phone 351 8170095, email sikalesh.cultura@gmail.com, pec sikalesh@pec.it.
Duration
The contest is inspired by the event "Supra Panormum. Cupola, Torri, Campanili", it is possible to send your own photographic elaborations until 10 June 2025 (deadline for sending the photographic elaborations at 18:00 hours of 10 June 2025).
Object and purpose
The Contest, born from the desire of the Promoter, to involve professional artists and amateurs (hereinafter Participant), united by the same passion for our historical beauties. Often many of them are very good artists and in this case excellent photographers. The Promoter wants to give them the opportunity to show their creativity in the field of photography, and collaterally disclose our immense heritage.
Participation in the contest
Participation in the Contest is free of charge and is addressed to Italian citizens and foreigners over 18 years, without distinction between professionals and amateurs. Each participant may submit only one photo. The sending of photographic images will be done exclusively by telematic via the website of the Promoter. Photos showing recognizable logos, brands or people will not be accepted. By sending the photo you accept the terms of this regulation and the release for use of images. These must be sent no later than 6:00 pm on 10 June 2025.
Technical characteristics
Photographs in b/w and colour, vertical or horizontal are allowed. The required graphic format is Joint Photographic Experts Group (*jpeg or jpg). Maximum size of uploaded file is 5mb, with a resolution of 300 DPI.
The image must be sent with the relevant information concerning the technical characteristics of the device with which it was created, e.g.: name camera or smartphone and any other details of specificity.
Each photo must be accompanied by the name and surname of the participant, e-mail address, mobile phone, place of shooting, title of the work, description. No photographic work with recognizable logos, marks or persons is allowed.
Selection
The photographic works that will arrive within the deadlines established by the Regulation will be preselected by the Promoter. Only those which correspond to the required technical specifications and which conform to the proposed theme shall be chosen.
Voting
The Contest provides an online voting open to all through the website of the Promoter and its social channels. The documents selected by the Promoter will be uploaded to all social profiles in possession of the latter in order to be voted [https://www.facebook.com/associazioneculturalesikalesh, https://www.facebook.com/chiesadelss.salvatore/, https://www.facebook.com/cupoladelss.salvatore/, https://www.facebook.com/complessosantantonioabate/, https://www.facebook.com/complessomonumentalecarminemaggiore/ ]. Each user can only vote once per project. The photos that have received the most votes will be declared winners of the Contest.
Awarding
The winner, after communication by e-mail from the Promoter, will have the opportunity to exhibit his work along the path leading to the Dome of Ss. Salvatore, for a month.
The winning Participant will have his or her own photographic work printed out by the Promoter for the exhibition.
Disclaimer of copyright
By participating in the "Domes, Towers, Steeples" photo contest, the participant declares to be the creator and creator of the work. To be the rightful owner of the rights of exploitation and use thereof, in full respect of the corresponding intellectual property rights and any other right, none excluded, that it has on the work. Not having worked on the content of the work described above with other authors who may have rights to it. The participant shall release to the Cultural Association Sikalesh for the reproduction of the intellectual proposal, even only part of it, in a completely free form and within the time limits provided for in the realization of the Art Contest "Domes, Towers and Bell Towers". The participant warrants the intellectual property of the document and hereby releases the Promoter from any liability, direct and/or indirect, for actions, requests and claims by third parties (at any time, form and venue), both in relation to the dissemination of content, and following the possible identification of additional rights holders, due to violations of existing rules for the protection of intellectual property copyright.
The Promoter uses the right to use the photographic works for the purposes provided by the Regulation.
Images may be used to:
- production of communication products (videos, photo productions, posters etc...)
- production of photographic prints for exhibition purposes as prize of the contest
- publication on the Promoter’s social media and website.
The Promoter is not obliged to return the figurative works that are the subject of the prize, guaranteeing that they can be used even at the end of the period of the Contest for the sole purpose of illustration within the sites managed by the same. By participating in the Contest, the Participant is aware that the published works may be shared by third parties, relieving the Promoter of any liability.
Consent processing of personal data
The Participant, pursuant to and for the purposes of art. 13 and 23 of D. Lgs. n. 196/2003, by participating in the Contest, authorizes the processing of personal data according to the methods and limits provided for therein.
Acceptance terms Regulation
By sending the photo, the participant of the contest declares:
- to be of age;
- to be aware of and accept the terms of this Regulation in all its parts without any exceptions;
- that the work submitted is original, owned and does not violate the applicable copyright laws;
- that the use of images is free;
- to grant the use of personal data (D. Lgs. n. 196/2003) for the purposes indicated by the Contest and provided by the Regulation;
- to grant the use of the photographic work sent for the Promoter’s communication activities.
